We arrived in the evening after a prolonged journey from Berlin, but the route to the Adagio from Basel SBB railway station could not have been simpler or more convenient (by no. 11 tram), while the walk across the Franco-Swiss border was dead easy and short. The women staff were professional and friendly, speaking French, German and English. The room itself was quite small, but after the first night seemed very cozy and ideal for visiting both Basel and Alace. Good cooking appliance, fridge suitably sized, ideal selection of plates, cups, glasses and cutlery. A step up beyond the window-doorway got you onto a shared balcony with wide view over northern Basel and much of Saint-Louis. The relatively small French town possessed very good food shops, including two boulangeries and two excellent-quality Turkish shops, as well as the well-stocked Carrrefour Express a little further up the main road; restaurants, if desired. Good train links from the local station, as well as exceptionally frequent trams into Basel Altstadt and slightly beyond to the main station. While young people tended to prevail, overall there was quite a wide age range of guests. Overall, we saved quite a bit of cash by staying on the French side; much recommended for additionally getting the best of both sides of the border. I'd happily stay there again.

Location was amazing, 20mins away from the airport (by public transport) and straight next to bus stop. Also straight next to Swiss border which has a tram direct to Basel centre. I stayed in a twin room. Good space around and inbetween the beds. Kitchen had a the basic necessities bar an oven (came with microwave). It was supplied with dish soap and cloth. Bathroom was fine, came with soap. I am 6ft 2 and the shower head was high enough for me. Staff were lovely, gave us more loo roll when we ran out. We stayed in the cheap room and there were 2 chairs and a table that came with an extender so we could eat dinner at the table which was a bonus

Very friendly and helpful staff, both at reception and breakfast- thanks a lot to the team for a very pleasant stay! Hotel is well connected to Basel by public transport, and also St Louis's small center is only 10-15 min walk. Spacious room with practical kitchenette (that I did not need to use). My room was on the ground floor and quite close to the main street, so had to sleep with windows closed at night, which is OK in the colder period, but may get a bit stifling in summer. Breakfast is good with quite a few choices, although frankly I have had better breakfasts for the price. Again, not a complaint, just an observation.

Great aparthotel right next to the border with Switzerland. The rooms are mini studios with a small but complete kitchen, a private bathroom and a big and clean room. Everything was very tidy and the staff was nice too. I think this establishment is in the exact location since there are some restaurants around and a bus stop next to the entrance where you can take the bus to the train station, from which you can start your trip to places like Colmar or Strasbourg.

This hotel is a perfect choice if you plan to visit Basel and the surrounding cities like Colmar and Strasbourg in France or Bern and Lucerne in Switzerland on daytrips. The city centre of Basel and Basel SBB train station is about 10-15 mins away by tram 11, Saint-Louis train station is about 10 mins by bus 604. We had enough space for 3 people in the room. We have met with friendly and helpful staff.
